  • The Cerveira-Tomiño Eurocity links the municipalities of Vilanova de Cerveira in Portugal and Tomiño in Spain.
  • In 2020, it joins the celebrations of the European Cooperation Day with a tree planting act, on September 25.
The Cerveira-Tomiño Eurocity is located on the northern área of the Portuguese-Spanish border. Its main objective is to ensure sustainable growth. This, in order to have a positive impact on the quality of life and the social cohesion of the population of this common space.
Both municipalities share the common resource of Rio Minho. They cooperate for its preservation and for the promotion of two natural, cultural, and ethnographic values.
Furthermore, the Eurocity is also an example of cooperation in public services, human and economic resources that have received international recognition.
An emblematic example is its “valedoras”, cross-border mediators who ensure access for the population on equal terms.
