An initiative to celebrate European Cooperation Day 2020 and 30 years of INTERREG, with presentation of project results and a film festival.

A full day to celebrate cooperation and 30 years of INTERREG, to tell about territories and identities, to discuss the results of European territorial cooperation in the 2014-20 period and to identify common strategies and actions for the new programming phase.

The initiative, organized by Puglia Region in collaboration with the ETC programmes Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro, Interreg V-A Greece-Italy and ENI CBC MED, will be held on 9 October at the Fiera del Levante in Bari.

The meeting “Cooperation for Tourism and Culture in the Mediterranean area” will open the day (Hall 152 – 9.30/13.30), with presentation of project results and a discussion about the 2021-27 period. Project videos focused on culture and tourism will be screened throughout the day.

In the afternoon there will be the Film Festival “The journey and the memory” (Cineporto – 14.30/18.30), with a review of 19 short films produced by Apulia Film Commission, Lead partner of  the projects CIRCE (Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro) and CIAK (Interreg V-A Greece-Italy).

CIRCE’s anthological web series, composed of 9 short films directed by young directors under-35, through the theme of travel promotes the rich cultural, artistic and architectural heritage of Albania, Montenegro, Molise and Puglia.

CIAK’s activity “Memory”, instead, involved young Apulian and Greek directors who made 10 short films on the common history of Greece and Italy, in order to enhance the Apulian territory and that of the regions of Epirus, Western Greece and Ionian Islands.

The excellent result comes from a common work that brought the passion and commitment of individuals interweave into the broader landscape of cross-border cooperation and inter-culture.

Access to the events will be regulated in compliance with anti Covid-19 measures.
